Erosion and Sediment Control Workshop for Contractors and Developers

By now, you’ve heard that every construction project that disturbs one
acre or more needs an NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System)
permit. But did you know that local
erosion and sediment control ordinances also exist? And here’s your chance to hone up on your erosion and sediment
control Best Management Practices (BMPs) before the next building season
The Regional Stormwater
Protection Team (RSPT) is offering an Erosion and Sediment Control Workshop for
Contractors and Developers. The
workshop will provide training on erosion and sediment control from Jay Michels
(Minnesota Erosion Control Association).
Local experts will highlight BMP modifications to control erosion and
sediment in our area (under conditions such as steep slopes, shallow bedrock,
and clay soils). A panel of local
officials from Duluth, Hermantown, Proctor, Superior, and area townships will
explain requirements in their jurisdictions and answer your questions. You’ll also receive hints and helpful
handouts to help you through the stormwater permitting process.
You won’t find any workshop that offers
